Following her legendary performance at the 57th Grammy Awards earlier this month, pop icon Madonna took the stage at the 2015 BRIT Awards for the first time in 20 years.
During her performance of “Living for Love,” a cut from her Rebel Heart album, the 56-year-old was yanked backwards and fell down a three-step staircase after a backup dancer tugged her massive cape, which was supposed to detach. The massive tumble caused her to drop the microphone and miss a few verses, but like a true professional, Madonna recovered immediately to complete her performance.
After the mishap, she took to Instagram and gave a shoutout to Armani for creating the cape, and explained the wardrobe malfunction to her 3.1 million followers.
“Armani hooked me up,” she wrote. “My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine!”
